The UK Government is developing a new safe and legal route for people fleeing conflict and persecution, and is now deciding which nationalities qualify. Palestinians from Gaza risk being excluded, since the original scheme required applicants to first leave Palestine and register with UNHCR – a step Gaza’s residents cannot access.
UK communities are already organising to sponsor and welcome Palestinian families. This petition urges the Government to ensure Palestinians from Gaza are included in the route’s first phase, on the same terms as others fleeing conflict.
