All That’s Left of You is a sweeping, multigenerational drama written and directed by Palestinian-American filmmaker Cherien Dabis, who also stars in the film alongside an extraordinary cast including Saleh Bakri, Mohammad Bakri, and Adam Bakri. Spanning seven decades from the Nakba of 1948 to the Occupied West Bank of the 2020s, the film traces three generations of a Palestinian family — beginning with grandfather Sharif, who refuses to abandon his Jaffa home as Israeli forces close in, through to his grandson Noor, swept up in a West Bank protest in the present day. It is the first feature film to depict the beginnings of the Nakba and stands as a landmark of contemporary Palestinian cinema.
Produced with the support of executive producers Mark Ruffalo and Javier Bardem, the film has earned widespread critical acclaim since its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. It won the Audience Award for Best International Feature at the Sydney Film Festival, was named Best Film at the Malaysia International Film Festival, and was Jordan’s official submission for the 98th Academy Awards, making the Oscar shortlist. As director Dabis describes it, the film is about “looking for meaning in grief and choosing humanity even in the most difficult of circumstances, which Palestinians have done and do every single day.”
